Dr. Ioannis Sfontouris, M.Med.Sci, PhD, is a Clinical Embryologist with over 20 years of experience in IVF, scientific research and university teaching.
He is officially certified as a Senior Clinical Embryologist and is the Coordinator of the Special Interest Group (SIG) Embryology of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). He holds the position of Honorary Assistant Professor in Clinical Embryology at the University of Nottingham and Associate Editor of the highly regarded scientific journal Human Reproduction.
He has published a series of articles in widely popular scientific journals and has made awarded poster presentations in international conferences.
He has long experience in teaching university students and training new embryologists, and participates as a teacher in postgraduate programs in Greece and the UK.

Konstantina Anagnostara graduated from King’s College London with a BSc Hons in Biomedical Science and then obtained her Master’s Degree (M.Med.Sci.) in Assisted Reproduction Technology from the University of Nottingham.
She has trained and worked as an embryologist at the IVF Unit of the University of Bristol since 2004 and obtained an official license to perform ICSI on human gametes from the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) as well as her Certificate in Clinical Embryology from the Association of Clinical Embryologists (ACE) in the UK. She then went on to work as an Embryologist at NHS Southmead Hospital in Bristol (BCRM) and at NHS St. Bartholomew’s IVF Unit in London. She has been working in Athens as a Clinical Embryologist since November 2009.
She is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction & Embryology (ESHRE) and she is an ESHRE certified Senior Clinical Embryologist. She is also a member of the Hellenic Association of Clinical Embryologists (PEKE) and she has also been certified by PEKE as a Clinical Embryologist. She has trained in embryo biopsy techniques for Preimplantation Genetic Testing at University College London (UCL).
She ensures continuing her scientific development with the attendance of various international conferences, seminars & training courses.
She has been working as a Clinical Embryologist at Hygeia IVF Embryogenesis since the start of the Unit in January 2022.

Embryologist Dr. Eleni Kontogianni specializes in the treatment of male and female infertility, IVF and preimplantation diagnosis. She is the embryologist who performed the first preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) worldwide, at Hammersmith Hospital in London in 1990, with professors Sir Robert Winston and Alan Handyside, published in Nature journal. She applies the entire range of the most innovative and effective techniques in the lab, so that, along with her clinical associates, she can make every couple’s dreams of becoming parents come true.
Apart from performing clinical work, she continues her research activities. She has published a number of studies in scientific journals, as well as made awarded poster presentations at international conferences. She also teaches at the postgraduate Department of Reproductive Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Afroditi comes from a large family. She was born and raised on the island of Kalymnos. In 2017, she graduated from the School of Biology, University of Patras and continued her postgraduate studies on Reproductive and Regenerative Medicine at the Athens University School of Medicine. Her dissertation was based on molecular biology techniques that identify polymorphisms in endometriosis, associating it with infertility.
She has attended numerous conferences and seminars on assisted reproduction in the context of continuous training on the latest developments and innovations in embryology. Since October 2019, she has been working as an embryologist at the MITERA Assisted Reproduction Unit, having accumulated wide experience in all assisted reproduction procedures.
